BASEMENT VILLEGAS

Before- Large 2000 sq' basement prior to the start of construction. The recessed bump-out on the left will become the guest bedroom.
During- As framing begins. All framing will be wood studs-no metal.
During- At this point all framing and sheetrock hanging is complete, as is the rough-in plumbing and electric. The ceiling has been insulated for sound. Homeowner wanted a drop ceiling for easy access,
After- The main entertainment area is divided into 3 open sections that include a pool table, a custom bar, and a TV lounge. A 4' wide double door to the left opens into the guest bedroom.

After- Another view of the great room taken from the TV lounge area. A suspended/drop ceiling (2'x2' panels with recessed tracking) was installed to allow easy access for wiring and plumbing (at customers request).

DURING- Same view from under the main duct bulkhead. The support pole to the left will be wrapped with wood trim to match the bar winerack.

During- The ceiling has been insulated for sound as the drop ceiling panels and track system go up.
AFTER- The open door leads to the full bathroom, the door to the right of that is a storage closet under the steps. The 2 sets of double doors to the left lead to the storage-clothes closets. The kneewall with built-in cabinets helps to seperate the TV ar

DURING- Framing and rough-in plumbing for the bathroom are complete.
DURING- Bathroom walls are closed using greenboard for the walls and ceiling and Durock concrete tile backer board for the 3 shower walls.
DURING- Bathroom tile work is complete and vanity installed. We installed a recessed granite shelf in the shower that matches the vanity granite.

With all framing and rough-in complete, all walls are finished with sheetrock and the ceiling is insulated for sound.
After- The two center closets provide storage, while to the right is a 6' wide double door (with slide bolts) that opens to the electrical service area. To the left a hallway leads past the stairs to the bar and pool table area.

Guest bedroom is complete. a 3' wide set of double doors open into the bedroom closet. 4 recessed lights on a dimmer provide ample lighting.
This is a view of the basement taken from the corner of the future guest bedroom.
The bedroom partition wall needed to be 16" thick in order to conceal the support column. We constructed a double wall that will house a recessed bookshelf.
After- View of 14'x15' guest bedroom. Out of view to the right is the bedroom closet. An open recessed bookcase provides additional storage.

After- All cabinetry is solid hardwood maple, made by 'Raver Custom Cabinets'. The arched granite top provides comfortable seating for 4. The back wall has 5 cabinets with locking doors and adjustable shelving.

DURING- All sheetrock work is complete- The bar base cabinets are installed over the porcelain floor tile. We inatalled the tile first because it gives a cleaner look running under the cabinets.

After view of bar interior shows sink base, icemaker (to left of sink), and wine cooler/mini-fridge. Both levels of counter are clearly visible. The 12 inch porcelin floor tile was also used in the bathroom and electric closet.
This close-up shows the wine fridge which has 2 different temperature zones, and the icemaker which produces fresh ice 24 hours a day.

Each one of the 2 finished storage closets has a 3' wide double door with ball catches. Inside each closet has Custom shelves as shown.
Before the basement was painted, this pic shows the storage closet under the steps and the access panel in the rear of the closet. to the left the bathroom dooway has a granite threshold that matches the vanity and bar granite.
